About us Our history Our history 中文点击这里 Our Background Dr. Pui-Ling Li founded the Centre because of a deep and personal understanding of the issues the Chinese community face in accessing mainstream health and social services. Herself the daughter of immigrants, Dr. Li was called upon to act as translator for her parents even as a young child. This experience made her determined to set up a centre accessible to everyone who needed help in understanding the UK's health system or was experiencing difficulties communicating. Our Awards The Chinese National Healthy Living Centre was awarded the 2010 London Region Health and Social Care Awards through our work in testing, diagnosing, treating and vaccinating against Hepatitis B. We have also been funded by a £1.2M lottery grant in the past and are the acknowledged expert in the field nationally. Our support We are a small team who work hard to provide services to the community. We've been grateful to enjoy the support of people like Angela Rippon, who attended our national conference on dementia to raise awareness. We have also been visited personally by several Health Ministers and work to engage government as well as the community on the most pressing issues. Our Future In these times of austerity we've recently had our core funding cut enormously and are in some trying times. We are grateful for any support so please, help us keep providing services by helping to Save Our Centre!
