Improving access to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM): lessons in pluralism from a UK Chinese National Healthy Living Centre
This report, co-authored by the CNHLC and Dr Maria Tighe (Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Plymouth) reveals how the use of TCM at the Chinese National Healthy Living Centre raises the visibility of TCM as a Chinese cultural practice and challenges the relationship between “traditional” medicine use and Chinese health inequalities.

Evaluation of the Chinese Mental Health Advocacy and Support Project
This report offers background information about the mental health needs of the Chinese community, and evaluates the impact of a three-year project aimed at improving access to health care services for Chinese people with mental health needs, and improving their experiences of the services they received.

The mental health service needs of Chinese elders in Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Brent
What are the barriers to access to mental health services for Chinese elders? And what experiences do Chinese elders have of mental health services? This 2008 report summarises the findings of community research carried out by CNHLC, and offers recommendations for improving access to mental health services for older Chinese people.

East Staffordshire Chinese Community Needs Assessment
In partnership with Burton Chinese Community Association, the Centre completed a community needs assessment of Chinese people in the East Staffordshire area to better understand their views on community services, including healthcare, adult education and community advisory services. The work was funded by a grant from Awards for All.

The Mental Needs of Chinese People Living in England: A Report of a National Survey
This report indicates that the mental health needs of the Chinese community are not being adequately met by health and social care services. It also highlights the need for the promotion of better understanding of mental illness by the Chinese community.
