This project was funded by the Voluntary Action Manchester and Eiuropean Social Fund and delivered in partnership with Chinese Health Information Centre, Wai Yin Chinese Women Society and Barradell & Maskell Opticians.

This project aimed to help those who:

• Hold the book at arm's length when reading
• Strain their eyes to read labels at the supermarket
• Find taking your reading glasses on and off constantly irritating

The project provided eye tests with interpreters present on the day to make the tests more culturally sensitive. Financial support from the NHS was available in some cases. It was held at Barradell & Maskell Optician in Manchester.
