Sheffield World Mental Health Day
19 October 2004
The health day was organised by the Sheffield Kinhon Project and held at the Candy Town Chinese Restaurant. We ran a Parenting workshop "Understanding Teenagers" on the day.

Manchester Well Men Health Day
14 October 2004
The health day aimed to promote men's health awareness among CHIC. It was held at the Yang Sing Restaurant and more than 50 men attended the event.

World Mental Health Day in Manchester
10 October 2004
Over 300 people attended our joint mental health day with Wai Yin Chinese Women Society and CHIC. Activities included artwork, singing, blood pressure check and more.

Health Advocacy Drop-in Service in Doncaster
September 2003 - September 2004
A Health Advocacy drop-in service for the Chinese community in Doncaster and its surrounding area. This service was supported by Doncaster PALS.

Chinese Catering Trade Fair
29-31 August 2004
Over 1000 people visited our stall at the Chinese Catering Trade Fair in the Olympia Exhibition Centre. We provided more than 280 health checks during this 3 day event.

The Chinese TV Channel's "Happy Family Gala Fun Day" Event
30-31 May 2004
This was a family orientated event that gave the opportunity for Chinese families to enjoy the long bank holiday weekend with their favourite stars from the Chinese TV Channel. They invited us to set up a health stall in Colindale on the 30th of May and in Birmingham City Centre on the 31st of May. Over 500 people visited our stalls during those two days.

Westminster Chinese Community Health Fair

Over 120 Chinese came to visit this fair. Westminster PCT was our key partner for this event.

Leeds Stop Smoking Workshop

The Leeds stop smoking workshop in April was a great success. The PCT has asked us to assist them to set up a permanent clinic for the Chinese community there.

Health & Safety in the Workplace Seminar

Multi-region Older People Easter Party
7 April 2004
More than 270 Chinese elders from Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry and Warwickshire took part in this innovative event in Manchester. This event was held at the Kwok Man Restaurant, Manchester.

Leeds Health Talks
10 February - 22 March 2004
In order to promote mental well being and healthy living to the Chinese community in Leeds, Minority Ethnic Mental Health Opportunities (MEMHO) Healthy Living Centre, Thomas Danby College and our centre jointly organised a set of Health Talks. Through various health topics, the Chinese community was able to explore health issues in detail. Members of the public were invited to pose health related questions to our staff on the day. Topics included communication skills, parental control and women’s health issues.

Focus Group and Interview Sessions on Illegal Food Imports
February - March 2004
We helped to run a focus group and interview sessions with members of the Chinese community on illegal food imports in London. This piece of work was commissioned by Connect Research & Consultancy Ltd (a Contractor to COI Communications).

Chinese Mental Health Awareness Booklet Launch
8 March 2004
East London Chinese Community Centre (ELCCC) launched the Chinese Mental Health Awareness booklet at their centre. It was a great occasion to meet up with external colleagues working in this field. Chinese Mental Health Awareness Booklet is written by Ms Caroline Howard - Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. The Copies of this booklet are available at our centre, and you can order it from ELCCC.

"Chinese Youths in UK" Workshop
1 March 2004
The workshop on adolescence for British Born Chinese organised for the Chinese Women and Youth society (CWAYS) in Portsmouth was very well received. A closer working relationship with CWAYS has been formed.

Launch of the Emotional Support Project in Birmingham

Over 80 people attended this event of which a third were service providers’ representatives. This event was held at the Trident Housing Association, Birmingham.
